It’s 64 degrees, cloudy, and I’m indulging in my first of many pumpkin spice lattes. Google says fall isn’t until September 23, but I beg to differ. Last night I visited my favorite little Italian seamstress who seems to have every intention of offering motherly advice whether I ask for it or not. Let me be clear: I love her, and although I may disagree with her insisting I wear a push-up bra or inferring it’s time for marriage, I know she means well.
Like any Italian woman, she loves to cook. Yesterday she sent me home with all the ingredients to make a delicious autumn salad with an surprising mix of grape tomatoes and Asian pears. It is the perfect mash-up of salty and sweet and not-to-mention extremely refreshing! Here it is:
Autumn Tomato & Pear Salad:
- 2 cups grape tomatoes (cut in half)
- 1 Asian pear cut into chunks
- 1 tsp oregano
- fresh basil
- pinch of sea salt
- spritz of olive oil
- 2 tbsp. Fustini’s Pineapple Balsamic Vinegar
Toss all ingredients together and enjoy!
